Maintenance Technician- Job Description
- This on-site Maintenance Technician role supports a large, modern corporate facility by performing a wide range of building maintenance tasks.
You will handle everything from flooring and doors to lighting, HVAC, plumbing, desks, and other facility needs while working within a ticket-based system. The position requires strong customer service skills, regular interaction with office staff, and the ability to respond to unique maintenance requests in a professional and efficient manner.
- Responsibilities
- + Perform general building maintenance on a wide variety of systems and fixtures, including flooring, doors, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, desks, and other facility components.
+ Use a computerized ticketing system to receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance requests in a timely and organized manner. + Interact directly with employees to understand their maintenance needs, provide updates, and ensure a positive customer service experience. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems in a commercial environment. + Carry out commercial maintenance and facility upkeep to ensure the building remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. + Perform basic carpentry tasks such as adjusting or repairing doors, furniture, and fixtures as needed. + Respond to unique or non-standard maintenance requests while maintaining a professional and solution-oriented approach. + Participate in on-call scenarios, responding to after-hours maintenance issues as needed. + Document work performed, parts used, and status updates within the ticketing system to maintain accurate records. + Collaborate with other maintenance and facility staff to coordinate work and minimize disruption to building occupants.
- Essential Skills
- + At least 1 year of experience working with computers and operating within a ticket-based system.
+ Experience in commercial maintenance or facility maintenance in a corporate or similar environment. + Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including basic troubleshooting and repairs. + Plumbing experience in a commercial or building maintenance setting. + Basic electrical experience related to building maintenance and repair. + Carpentry skills for tasks such as repairing or installing doors, furniture, and fixtures. + Strong customer service skills and the ability to work professionally around office staff and other building occupants. + Ability to handle multiple maintenance tasks and requests while maintaining attention to detail. + Comfort using technology and computer systems to manage work orders and communicate updates.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Previous experience in a large commercial building or corporate campus environment.
+ Experience in building maintenance that includes exposure to modern office amenities and technology. + Ability to adapt to unique or unconventional maintenance requests in a professional manner. + Strong communication skills to effectively explain issues and solutions to non-technical staff. + Organizational skills to manage multiple tickets and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact. + Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours maintenance needs when required.

- The position is based in a large, multi-floor corporate building that is clean, professional, and equipped with modern amenities.
The facility spans five floors and includes a gym, coffee bar, conference rooms, and advanced technology throughout the space. You will work on-site in a contemporary office environment that features full kitchens and coffee shops, where employees can enjoy complimentary meals and beverages. The building is new, well-maintained, and designed to provide a comfortable, professional atmosphere for both staff and visitors. Work may include participation in on-call rotations, with the understanding that extended overnight work for major issues is balanced by not being expected to return the next day. The role involves regular use of computer systems and a ticketing platform to manage maintenance requests.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
