Job Goal:
The Maintenance Technician/Plumber will be responsible for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing and regularly maintaining the plumbing systems and equipment of the Fall Mountain Regional School District buildings and sites to ensure full and productive use of district facilities. To accomplish these tasks the Plumber must work closely with the staff and administration of the District.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Inspect, repair, maintain and test plumbing, heating, cooling and other process piping systems; clear plugged waste lines.
  • Remove and replace or install all types of plumbing fixtures such as water closets, sinks, drinking fountains, showers, kitchen, laboratory and other equipment.
  • Construct various types of pipe joints for high or low pressure systems, including threading, brazing, soldering, welding or leadpiping of joints.
  • Order materials and supplies as required; may perform work in other trades
  • Provide assistance with any emergency repairs during and after school hours.
  • Receive and complete work orders via an electronic system including submission of accurate records of work accomplished, including time and materials consumed in the job.
  • Maintain the shop and equipment assigned in a safe and orderly condition.
Other Job Functions:
  • Attend pertinent workshops and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand for prolonged periods; required to lift, move or carry objects weighing fifty (50) or more pounds; potentially exposed to ordinary infectious diseases; required to take precautions to avoid exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and materials, fumes, flames and hot surfaces; required to operate a motor vehicle between sites; required to crouch, crawl, bend or work in other non-routine positions. Qualifications:
    Required:
    • Possess/maintain a valid state driver's license.
    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum three years of experience as a plumber in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting.
    • Good communication and people skills.
    • Able to respond to District need on an "on call" basis, after school hours and on weekends, especially during the winter heating season.
    • Maintain appearance and conduct suitable for working with students, other district staff and the public.
    • Ability to run a laptop or IPAD for daily use.
    • Ability to complete the following trainings as required: forklift operation certification, lock out tag out, fall arrest, confined space, MSDS, asbestos and lead identification, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, OSHA and respirator training.
    Preferred:
    • Possess a NH State Journeyman Plumber's License.
    • A current Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
