Maintenance Technician

Hotel maintenance technician job description: A hotel maintenance technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and preservation of a hotel's physical plant and grounds to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. This role combines technical expertise in building systems with a guest-first hospitality mindset.

System Maintenance:

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to prevent major failures.

Guest Room Repairs:

Respond promptly to guest requests to fix issues like leaky faucets, clogged toilets, malfunctioning PTAC units, or broken furniture.

General Upkeep:

Execute "cosmetic" repairs including painting, drywall patching, carpet cleaning, and replacing light bulbs.

Safety Inspections:

Conduct regular checks of fire-life-safety systems (extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting) and maintain compliance with OSHA and local building codes.

Specialized Facilities:

Manage chemical levels and filtration systems for swimming pools, spas, and gyms.

Grounds Maintenance:

Oversee exterior tasks like landscaping, irrigation, trash removal, and seasonal snow or ice removal.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Skills & Qualifications Technical Proficiency:

Hands-on knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication for interacting with guests and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (sometimes more), climb ladders, and work in tight or outdoor spaces.

Education/Experience:

Certifications:
