Maintenance Technician

Job Summary This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a safe, clean and functioning environment and grounds for a church and preschool. This is a hands-on role for a maintenance technician who can work independently, diagnose issues, and take ownership of building and campus operations. Repair Responsibilities Maintain, perform preventive maintenance and make minor repairs on building systems (HVAC equipment, plumbing systems and fixtures, electrical systems) Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs with minimal supervision Respond to service requests and prioritize based on operational needs Assist with system startups, shutdowns, and seasonal transitions Support campus projects and renovations as needed Coordinate and manage relationships with contractors and vendors Maintain accurate work records and clean, organized workspaces Maintenance Responsibilities Responsible for all cleaning, upkeep and maintenance of church facilities (e.g. church office, preschool, sanctuary and campus grounds) Ability to independently recognize what needs to be cleaned and cleaning it Track and order supplies and equipment as needed Maintain the facility through painting, pressure washing, etc. Foresee problems and implement preventative solutions Perform logical troubleshooting (assessing a problem, developing a strategy with management and completing a job well and efficiently). Setup and breakdown of furniture for church events Perform additional tasks as occasionally required Requirements 3-5+ years of building maintenance or systems experience Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems Ability to work independently and manage workload Skilled, reliable and hard-working with outstanding problem-solving abilities. Experience in a school, campus, or institutional environment Understanding of and alignment with the core values, mission and vision of Long Hill Chapel.

Schedule:

∙ Monday to Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Must be available for occasional overtime Act as a first responder during facility emergencies Compensation - $ 50,000 annually
