Job Summary The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and organized operation of our New Jersey facilities. This multifaceted, hands-on position combines facilities and equipment maintenance with day-to-day operational coordination. Responsibilities include grounds maintenance, janitorial and building care, troubleshooting and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment, septic tank and dumpster oversight, shipping and deliveries coordination, work order management, supply ordering, project and contractor coordination, snow removal, de-icing, plowing and shoveling. The Facilities Maintenance Technician works closely with the Director of Operations and the broader maintenance team to keep the facility running safely, efficiently, and to standard. Duties and Responsibilities Grounds and Building Maintenance
  • Regularly inspect and maintain the exterior grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Perform and manage landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and planting
  • Perform and manage winter grounds maintenance, including snow removal, plowing, shoveling, and de-icing for all facility roadways and paths
  • Clean and supply designated building areas, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and restroom cleaning
  • Perform various janitorial duties to keep the facility organized and presentable.
  • Follow established procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and cleaning equipment Equipment Maintenance and Repair
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and install various pieces of processing and packaging equipment
  • Follow planned maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and life span of both production equipment and building systems
  • Work with fellow members of the maintenance team to formulate solutions to problems that arise with building and production equipment Septic Tanks and Dumpsters
  • Monitor and maintain septic tanks to ensure proper functionality
  • Coordinate dumpster maintenance and repairs as needed Day-to-Day Facilities Operations
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the facilities, including responding to emergencies, alarms, and maintenance requests
  • Collaborate with team members to address facility-related issues promptly
  • Document the completion of all maintenance items per the Standard Operating Procedure in place
  • Travel to dispensaries for maintenance as needed Shipping, Deliveries, and Inventory
  • Receive, inspect, and distribute incoming shipments
  • Organize and coordinate outgoing shipments
  • Ensure proper storage and inventory control of supplies
  • Assist with the inventory of parts and materials, ensuring accurate documentation showing usage of parts and materials Project Oversight and Contractor Coordination
  • Oversee projects at dispensaries or other locations as assigned
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure project completion on time and within budget
  • Communicate with contractors regarding pending projects and provide updates to the Director of Operations
  • Ensure that contractors adhere to safety protocols and contractual agreements
  • Maintain project records and documentation Supply Ordering
  • Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies for ongoing projects
  • Identify cost-effective procurement options and maintain vendor relationships Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or trade school Education is a plus
  • Previous experience in multi-facility maintenance management or a related field is preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting processing and packaging equipment
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Well versed in maintenance safety protocols
  • Ability to identify unsafe situations and work with team leads onsite to mitigate risks
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using computer software and tools for work order management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation will be required
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 100lbs
  • Capable of performing outdoor tasks in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable working on ladders or in confined spaces when necessary
  • Must be able to work seated or standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time
  • Must maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Use of hands and fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, and pinch frequently or constantly to complete tasks
Pay:
From $22.00 per hour
