Non-Exempt Position Summary Delbarton School is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician focused on building systems to support the operation of campus facilities. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across academic, residential, and athletic buildings. This is a hands-on role for a technician who can work independently, diagnose issues, and take ownership of building operations. Responsibilities Maintain and repair building systems including: HVAC equipment (air handlers, RTUs, VAV, VRF, controls support) Plumbing systems and fixtures Electrical systems (lighting, circuits, basic troubleshooting) Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs with minimal supervision Respond to service requests and prioritize based on operational needs Assist with system startups, shutdowns, and seasonal transitions Support campus projects and renovations as needed Coordinate with contractors and vendors Maintain accurate work records and clean, organized workspaces Follow all safety procedures and campus standards Requirements 3-5+ years of building maintenance or mechanical experience Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems Ability to work independently and manage workload Valid driver's license Ability to obtain a Black Seal (NJ Low Pressure Boiler Operator License) within 6 months of hire Ability to lift/carry at least 50 lbs and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions Must be available for overtime, evenings, emergency response, and snow removal operations Preferred Current Black Seal License Experience in a school, campus, or institutional environment Familiarity with boilers, hydronic systems, and building controls Experience operating lifts or light equipment Schedule Full-time position: 8:00 AM - 4:30PM Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:
