April 15, 2026 Part Time Field Maintenance Technician City of Orange, NJ $25 - $28 / per hour Part time Apply Now Back Job Description We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Field Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of residential and commercial properties. This role involves performing repairs, conducting inspections, and completing preventive maintenance tasks across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, self-motivated, and able to manage a variety of maintenance responsibilities while maintaining high standards of safety and service. Key Responsibilities Property Maintenance & Repair Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs in a timely manner Assist with unit turnovers, including repairs and preparation for new occupants Perform seasonal maintenance tasks such as landscaping and snow removal Clean common areas as needed Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems Document all maintenance work performed Tenant, Vendor & Staff Support Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls Coordinate with property management staff and external vendors Communicate and report recurring or major maintenance issues Safety, Compliance & Recordkeeping Follow all safety procedures, building codes, and company policies Use tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 3+ years of experience in general construction, property maintenance, or related field Experience with HVAC systems preferred Basic knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and repair techniques Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Familiarity with property management and office software (e.g., AppFolio, Microsoft Office Suite) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and tenants Physical Requirements Ability to perform hands-on physical work Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and access various areas of buildings Ability to lift up to 20 lbs Working Conditions Part-time hours with a flexible schedule Travel between multiple property locations required Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments Occasional weekend work may be required Our Commitment to
