JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and facility support within a food manufacturing plant. This role ensures the facility, non-production equipment, and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, sanitary, and operational condition that supports efficient production and compliance with food safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform general repairs and maintenance including carpentry, painting, and drywall within office and plant areas Maintain facility infrastructure such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, lighting, and employee areas (locker rooms, breakrooms, restrooms) Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize disruption to production Assist with minor repairs to non-production equipment and coordinate with maintenance team for larger equipment issues Ensure all work is performed in compliance with food safety (GMP), sanitation, and safety standards Follow proper procedures to prevent contamination, including use of appropriate materials and cleanup practices Maintain tools, parts inventory, and work areas in a clean and organized manner Assist with facility improvement and continuous improvement projects

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards preferred Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (standing, climbing, bending, kneeling)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment Working knowledge of carpentry, and general repair techniques

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Medium - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
