Maintenance Technician - Grounds and Vegetation

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse set of mechanical and landscaping skills, ensuring that our facilities and grounds are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, including both indoor and outdoor responsibilities. Duties Perform routine maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure optimal functionality. Conduct lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, and fertilization. Manage landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, watering, and general gardening. Utilize hand tools and power tools for various maintenance projects. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for landscaping and construction tasks. Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns. Assist with snow plowing during winter months to maintain safe access to facilities. Carry out tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and removal as necessary. Collaborate with team members on hardscape projects such as patios or walkways. Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks performed. Requirements Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in general maintenance tasks. Familiarity with lawn care, landscaping, horticulture, and gardening practices. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery (excavator). Strong understanding of irrigation systems and their maintenance. Ability to perform physical labor including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Knowledge of snow plowing techniques is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
