Role:
The Hotel Maintenance Person plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the hotel's physical infrastructure. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to maintain a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests and staff. The role requires proactive identification of potential maintenance problems and timely resolution to prevent disruptions to hotel services. The Hotel Maintenance Person collaborates closely with other hotel departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and support overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to guest satisfaction and the hotel's reputation by maintaining high standards of facility quality and safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field, preferably in a hospitality environment. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades. Experience working in a hotel or similar hospitality setting. Familiarity with safety standards and building codes relevant to hotel maintenance. Ability to operate maintenance management software or digital work order systems. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and hotel staff.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and appliances. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, diagnosing and repairing issues efficiently. Maintain and repair building structures such as doors, windows, walls, and flooring to ensure safety and functionality. Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring tools and materials are available and in good condition. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or large-scale maintenance projects. Document maintenance activities and report any significant issues to management for further action. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies during all maintenance activities.
