About Tri State Gate Tri State Gate installs and services garage doors and automated driveway gates for high-end residential and commercial clients across the NY, CT, and NJ tri-state area. We work on custom estate properties, commercial entrances, and everything in between throughout Westchester, Fairfield County, and the surrounding markets. We are a family-run business with a tight-knit crew. You will know everyone by name in your first week. The Role This is a hands-on service and install role for an experienced technician who has spent years working on garage doors, gate operators, or both. You will service and install garage doors and automated driveway gates for our clients across the tri-state area. The two systems share the same fundamentals (motors, controls, safety devices, troubleshooting), so your skills transfer directly between them, and we will support you on anything brand-specific you have not seen before. The Schedule Our hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30AM to 5:00PM, with on-call hours rotated across emploeyees. What You'll Be Doing Install and service residential and commercial garage doors and openers Install and service automated driveway gate operators Wire and program access control systems, including keypads, intercoms, telephone entry, and vehicle detection loops Diagnose and repair motors, control boards, safety sensors, photo eyes, and edge sensors in the field Provide direct customer service on every job Work alongside our install crews and project managers on new construction What We're Looking For 3+ years as a garage door technician, gate technician, or equivalent electromechanical service trade Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Comfortable troubleshooting 24V, 120V, and 240V systems and reading wiring diagrams Confident diagnosing problems in the field with the customer on-site Valid driver's license and clean driving record (you will be in a company truck) Able to lift heavy components, work outdoors year-round, and be on your feet throughout the day Authorized to work in the United States Nice to Have Experience with major operator manufacturers (LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, HySecurity, DoorKing, and similar) Access control, intercom, or telephone entry experience Basic welding or fabrication skills Why This Role Is Worth Your Time You will be working on a wider range of equipment than a typical garage-door-only shop sees. Custom estate driveway gates, premium garage door installations on high-end homes, full access control systems. $79,950.00 per year
