Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Glass Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and experience with glass installation. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring that glass fixtures are installed safely and effectively while adhering to industry standards. The Glass Installer will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and schematics, utilizing hand and power tools, and collaborating with other tradespeople on construction sites. Duties Install glass in residential and commercial settings, ensuring precision and quality. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to determine installation requirements. Utilize hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and securing glass. Perform fabrication tasks as needed, including trimming and caulking around installed glass. Collaborate with carpenters for door hanging, cabinet installation, and frame carpentry as required. Conduct heavy lifting of glass panels and related materials while following safety protocols. Assist in remodeling projects by installing fixtures and performing assembly tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Requirements Proven experience in glass installation or related construction fields. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematics. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, fabrication techniques, and assembly processes. Previous experience on construction sites is essential; maintenance person experience is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding conditions. Knowledge of caulking techniques, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and construction painting is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required. A commitment to safety practices on the job site is essential.
