Maintenance Technician

Asbury Pointe is looking for a full-time maintenance technician! Asbury Pointe is a premier independent living center in Getzville, New York. Residents make themselves right at home in spacious one or two-bedroom apartment homes.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm, availability for on call duty is required

Pay:

19.00/hour Receive compensation for being on call during the week Minimum of 4 hours paid if called in New paid time off structure- paid time off (PTO) starts after 90-days for employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week!

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES

1. Under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator, performs routine maintenance duties to complete all service request for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner. 2. Must be present for weekly facility meetings. 3. Assists in the execution of preventative maintenance program. 4. Communicates with Maintenance Coordinator for needed technical advice, product information, research and quality assurance guidance. 5. Advises Maintenance Coordinator of the overall condition of the equipment and furnishings of the community. 6. Assists with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures. 7. Interacts with residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. 8. Maintains

of all pertinent facility, staff and resident care information. 9. Assures that Residents right to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to file complaints, are followed. 10. Attends and participates in in-service education classes and on-the-job training programs as required. Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, etc. as directed.

OTHER RELATED COMPETENCIES

1. Available for scheduled on-call service. 2. All other duties as may be assigned by the Facility Supervisor or Facility Manager. 3. Follows all established safety procedures and precautions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standing, walking ascend/descend stairs, full range of motion, ability to lift/carry medium weights (up to 50 lbs.), light pushing/pulling (up to 60 lbs.), corrected vision and hearing, color discrimination, depth perception and sense of touch. Must be able to operate a car/truck, power driven equipment and slicing/cutting equipment. Must be able to tolerate exposure to heat above 1 00°F and cold below 40°F for sustained periods, working at heights over six (6) feet, working in confined areas, working with skin irritants, chemical and radiation/magnetic fields.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population. Must be capable of reading and writing the English language, preferably possessing a high school diploma or equivalent. Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality. Must have basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.
