Maintenance Handyman

Overview:

This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently diagnose and complete a wide range of residential repairs. We are looking for a well-rounded, skilled individual—not a helper—who can take ownership of tasks and get them done properly without constant supervision.

About Us:

We are a small, hands-on property ownership group managing several private residential homes throughout Rockland County NY, and Bergen County NJ. We take pride in keeping our properties well-maintained, clean, and safe for our tenants.

Duties :

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across multiple properties
• Troubleshoot and fix plumbing issues (leaks, clogs, fixture replacements)
• Handle basic electrical work (outlets, switches, lighting, minor troubleshooting)
• Complete drywall repair, patching, and painting
• Tile work and minor flooring repairs
• Maintain cleanliness around properties (light exterior cleanup, removing debris, keeping common areas neat)
• Carpentry and general construction tasks
• Prepare units for new tenants (repairs, touch-ups, readiness)
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner

Skills :

Proven hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and general repairs

• Ability to work independently and solve problems without step-by-step instruction
• Must have own tools to complete typical maintenance tasks
• Reliable transportation (travel between properties required)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with owners, tenants, or team members
• Experience working on residential rental properties
• Ability to handle a variety of repair tasks without outsourcing
• Basic understanding of building materials and construction methods What we offer:
