1st: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (Some flexibility in start time) Summary We are seeking a Tool PM Technician to repair, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on injection molds for automotive plastic components. This role requires hands-on mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a tool shop environment. The ideal candidate has prior experience with mold maintenance, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional to support mold reliability, optimize production readiness, and ensure molds meet strict quality standards. Required Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Knowledge in mold making or early technical machining education Proven mechanical aptitude with general understanding of dimensional mathematics Ability to read and interpret prints Experience using hand tools, power tools, mills, lathes, welding, and grinding (preferred 1+ year) Strong verbal and written communication skills Analytical mindset with sound decision-making abilities Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively Cooperative, team-oriented approach Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed Positive attitude to enhance company success Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills & Qualifications Prior experience performing preventative maintenance on injection molds Familiarity with mold inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and comparators Experience preparing molds for shipment and maintaining organized tool shop environment Day-to-Day Responsibilities Perform basic repair or replacement of broken or damaged mold components using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) on existing molds, including overhauls Perform general mold cleaning and inspection according to tool shop standards Take precise measurements and record dimensions and reference points Block and unblock mold cavities during PM and production settings Prepare molds for shipment to outside vendors Maintain clean and organized tool shop environment Support all other duties as assigned Physical and Environmental Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions may include standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to tools, equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
