Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

JOB OVERVIEW

Our Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel's building and grounds and the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems. Other areas of hotel operations would include: maintenance, guest service, safety and security. Additionally, this position will be required to maintain the hotel to the company and the brands standards for guest rooms as well as public areas. The Chief will also oversee the following: Review maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments. Ensure that property and equipment are maintained in a safe manner, and that all repairs are made as specified by manufacture and code. Service the hotel's pool including cleaning, appearance, and chemical balance and completing maintenance log. Solicit bids from contractors, evaluate their proposals and once employed, ensure work is complete to specifications. Maintain building exterior. Complete maintenance logs. Perform or assist with periodic or scheduled cleaning projects. Assist other departments when needed and perform other related duties as assigned by the General Manager. Perform preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis. Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction. Snow removal and ice management.

Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma. Must have working knowledge of plumbing,painting,electrical and/or other general repair skills Must display very good organization and time management skills. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be flexible hours and days worked. Some management experience. HVAC certification is not requirement but it is a plus.
