2nd Shift Equipment Maintenance Technician $25-$30/hr Fredericktown, OH Job Description The 2nd Shift Die Maintenance Technician supports daily production operations in the die cast machine department by performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of equipment. This role focuses on minimizing machine downtime, improving equipment efficiency, and providing hands-on production support through technical expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems. Responsibilities Work closely with production team members to complete maintenance and repair assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Set up, change over, and repair die cast machine equipment to support ongoing production needs. Provide support for both planned and unplanned work activities as assigned by production and leadership. Perform breakdown repairs on a variety of systems, including hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, ladder logic, and numerical controls. Collaborate directly with team leaders to reduce production downtime and drive improvements in machine efficiency. Participate in shift meetings and other assigned meetings to review priorities, issues, and improvement opportunities. Engage in all required training activities to continually improve and master assigned job duties. Perform robot recovery procedures and support robot training activities when requested. Support new model and new equipment activities as assigned, including setup and integration into production. Communicate clearly during shift handoffs, including reporting on daily equipment performance and follow-up actions for machine breakdowns. Complete preventive maintenance tasks on equipment as assigned to ensure reliability and optimal performance. Support environmental improvement activities within the facility as directed. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance and repair work. Maintain accurate documentation related to maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status as required by company processes. Perform all other related duties as assigned to support production and maintenance objectives. Essential Skills Minimum of 1-3 years of manufacturing experience utilizing team-based problem-solving techniques. Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a production environment is preferred Experience with electrical systems, including 480V 3-phase power. Ability to perform effective troubleshooting using schematics and blueprints. Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of industrial equipment. Capability to support machine breakdown repairs involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, ladder logic, and numerical controls. Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Understanding of technical drawings, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings (such as ball screws and spindles), as well as ladder logic diagrams. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work effectively with changing priorities and situations in a fast-paced production setting. Strong communication skills for effective shift handoff and collaboration with team members and leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints is preferred. Exposure to die cast equipment setup, changeover, and repair is preferred. Knowledge of the specific work areas covered within a die cast or automotive manufacturing environment. Experience supporting new model launches or new equipment integration in manufacturing. Comfort working in a team-based, multi-disciplinary production environment. Work Environment This full-time position operates on 2nd shift, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., in a modern manufacturing facility focused on die cast production and automotive parts. The environment centers on hands-on work with die cast machines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase, PLC-controlled equipment, and Fanuc robotics. Team members participate in shift meetings, collaborate closely with production staff, and support both planned and unplanned maintenance activities in a fast-paced, production-driven setting. The facility is clean and eco-friendly, reflecting a strong emphasis on safety, environmental responsibility, and workplace organization. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericktown, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.60 - $28.60/hr.
