JOB TITLE

Maintenance Worker

REPORTS TO

General Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Assists in the performance of duties necessary to maintain the physical structure of the hotel in good repair. Duties include carpentry, routine plumbing, minor electrical work, minor mechanical repairs and other maintenance duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs general repairs, including minor repairs on plumbing systems and fixtures. Assists in administration of an on-going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms. Lubricates, adjusts, and cleans equipment to prolong life and prevent shut down. Assists in responding to guest and staff needs, including: Repairs walls, furniture, cabinets, windows, doors, locks, keys Performs various electrical and mechanical repairs Performs repairs on fans and air conditioners Performs routine plumbing repairs Performs various carpentry work Performs various painting tasks Assists in administration of applicable franchise maintenance programs Assists in maintenance of departmental tools, work spaces, and equipment Knows/observes safety precautions and fire safety procedures and emergency action plans and use of fire control/alarm systems and extinguishers Performs other related and unrelated tasks as assigned by management

Essential Skills:

Requires familiarity with applicable franchise policy and procedures. Requires technical training in mechanical and electrical fields. Requires experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems; experience in carpentry, plumbing. Requires ability to communicate effectively with staff and guests.

Educational/Vocational Preparation:

High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Technical training in mechanical and electrical fields; experience in maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating systems, carpentry, and plumbing. Requires ability to professionally represent the hotel and communicate effectively with hotel staff and guests.
