Hotel Maintenance Technician

A Hotel Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, functional, and efficient operation of the property by performing repairs and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and guest room systems. Key responsibilities include responding to guest work orders, painting, carpentry, and conducting safety inspections to maintain high standards of quality. Core Responsibilities Preventative Maintenance (PM): Implement scheduled maintenance checks on HVAC, kitchen equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems to reduce downtime.

Guest & Facility Repairs:

Promptly address maintenance requests in guest rooms (e.g., TV, leaky faucets, lighting) and public areas (e.g., lobby, pool).

Trade Tasks:

Perform general repairs including carpentry, painting, dry walling, and plumbing.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure all equipment operates within safety standards, including fire systems, door locks, and security equipment.

Property Upkeep:

Maintain the exterior, including parking lots, landscaping, and lighting.

Collaboration:

Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure rooms are in top condition and assist with renovations.

Required Qualifications & Skills Technical Skills:

Proficiency in1+ maintenance trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry).

Experience:

Previous experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues independently.

Physical Stamina:

Capacity to lift heavy items, work on ladders, and stand for long periods.

Soft Skills:

Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks. Work Environment This role requires flexibility, often involving weekends, evenings, and on-call emergency shifts. Work is both indoors and outdoors, involving physically demanding tasks.
