Full Job Description PURPOSE :

The Handyman will, under the direction of the church Properties Committee, perform various repair items in the church.

These repairs require skills in:

Interior/exterior painting. General indoor maintenance. Minor plumbing and electrical issues. Carpentry. Some outdoor work.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Handyman will report to the Properties Committee Chairperson.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct routine inspections of premises to identify repair issues and report items to the Properties Committee. Include items in need of major repair or specialized contractor services. Respond to emergency maintenance calls and complete assigned duties in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate services with the Properties Committee and manage time effectively and maintain accurate records of work performed and materials utilized.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience as a Handyman. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting 50 lbs., standing for long periods, including in tight spaces and/or at heights (on a ladder). Excellent communication and service skills. High School diploma or equivalent qualification. Knowledge of safety procedures and adherence to all health and safety regulations.

GENERAL:

Part-time position requiring 10•15 hours weekly. Compensation is $20.00•$22.00 per hour based on experience. Prior to hiring, a thorough background check will be completed.
