Full Job Description Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general facility and production equipment maintenance, repairs, and support of day-to-day maintenance operations. This includes preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance of assigned equipment, as well as troubleshooting and repairs. The role requires physical strength, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in varying conditions both indoors and outdoors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoot and repair machine controllers, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment. Dismantle, assemble, troubleshoot, and repair equipment using prints, manuals, sketches, and diagrams. Communicate with OEM service representatives for parts ordering and problem-solving. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and repairs performed. Ensure safe work practices, report safety hazards, and perform necessary repairs. Report equipment issues or unfinished jobs to the next shift and supervisors. Use and maintain tools and equipment required for the job.
Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma or GED preferred; two-year degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent experience (five years preferred). Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings, as well as blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals. Knowledge of programmable logic control (PLC) processes. Working knowledge of plastic molding machine operations, general maintenance practices, tools, and materials. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and management. Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and moving materials of varying weights (light to heavy), as well as climbing equipment, ladders, and stairs.
Work Environment:
Exposure to dust, dirt, grease, and typical shop conditions. Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and climate conditions.
Experience:
One to three years to reach standard quality and productivity levels under normal supervision. #INDJenAdv
