- Direct Placement Job Description The CNC Maintenance Technician performs preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of CNC machines, handling both mechanical and electrical repairs and troubleshooting.
This role focuses on keeping equipment such as Mazak, DMG, HAAS mills and lathes running efficiently, primarily using Fanuc controls, by diagnosing issues through fault codes and completing timely repairs. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize unplanned downtime. Respond promptly to reactive maintenance needs on CNC equipment, addressing both mechanical and electrical issues. Diagnose equipment problems by reading and interpreting fault codes, then determine and implement appropriate corrective actions. Repair and replace motors, drives, cables, belts, and other key machine components as needed. Maintain and service hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with CNC mills and lathes. Troubleshoot 24V electrical systems and related control components on CNC machines. Work with Mazak, DMG, and
HAAS CNC
mills and lathes, primarily operating with Fanuc controls, to identify and resolve equipment issues. Apply machining knowledge and experience running parts to better understand machine behavior and support accurate troubleshooting. Document maintenance activities and repairs to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement. Collaborate with a small maintenance team to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and support overall production goals. Essential Skills Hands-on experience performing mechanical maintenance on CNC machines, including mills and lathes. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems on CNC equipment, including 24V systems. Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics as they apply to CNC machinery. Ability to read and interpret CNC machine fault codes and use them as a starting point for troubleshooting. Experience working with CNC machines that use Fanuc controls. Practical experience running parts and understanding the machining process and how it affects machine performance. Ability to diagnose and repair motors, drives, cables, and belts on CNC equipment. Solid troubleshooting skills with a methodical and safety-conscious approach. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience maintaining or repairing Mazak, DMG, and

equipment. CNC maintenance within a production or machining environment. Comfort working both independently and as part of a small maintenance team.
