Job Description
Job DescriptionSoftLite Windows & Doors, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to support our high-volume manufacturing operations in Streetsboro, Ohio.
This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings advanced mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise and thrives in a fast-paced production environment where precision, reliability, and proactive problem solving are critical.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong diagnostic capabilities, the ability to work independently as well as with a team, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Equipment TroubleshootingDiagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and automated systems.
Utilize schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation to identify root causes of failures.
Respond quickly to production downtime to minimize operational disruptions.
Preventative & Predictive MaintenancePerform preventative maintenance on production equipment including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
Identify early signs of equipment wear and proactively address potential failures.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement.
Safety & ComplianceFollow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Ensure equipment repairs meet safety and operational standards.
Support lockout/tagout procedures and safe maintenance practices.
Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with production supervisors, engineers, and leadership to resolve equipment challenges.
Contribute ideas that enhance safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong knowledge of:
Industrial electrical systemsPLC troubleshootingPneumatic systemsMechanical systems and machine repairAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagramsExperience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipmentExcellent diagnostic and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently as well as with a team within a fast-paced production environmentStrong commitment to workplace safety Preferred QualificationsTechnical certification, trade school training, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or electrical technologyExperience working in automated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with PLC platforms Experience with CMMS maintenance systems
