Job Description
Maintenance Technician, $36/hr, 2nd AND 3rd Shift, Start ASAP Job Description The Maintenance Technician overhauls, repairs, and tests high-speed production equipment across a large food manufacturing facility. This role focuses on keeping ovens, packaging machines, mixers, cartoners, baggers, stuffers, and related systems operating safely and efficiently. The technician reads and updates technical documentation, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and performs fabrication and basic electrical work to support continuous production. Responsibilities Overhaul, repair, and test high-speed production equipment, including ovens, packaging machines, mixers, cartoners, baggers, stuffers, and other machinery throughout the facility. Read, interpret, and update shop prints, specifications, and technical drawings to support maintenance and installation activities. Refer to and follow manufacturer's manuals for servicing and installing equipment and distribution systems. Determine manpower and material requirements for maintenance tasks and recommend appropriate means and methods to complete work assignments. Recommend improvements or changes to equipment, processes, or methods to enhance reliability and efficiency. Prepare, clean, and paint surfaces as needed and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas. Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment to diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues. Maintain spare parts inventory, monitor stock levels, and order parts and materials as required to minimize equipment downtime. Coordinate with maintenance supervision when applying lockout/tagout procedures to ensure equipment is safely de-energized before work begins. Consistently observe and follow all safety standards, policies, and best practices while performing maintenance tasks. Monitor and assist outside contractors working on-site to ensure compliance with facility standards and safety requirements. Train new hires and transferred employees on proper maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety standards. Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication tasks, including welding, grinding, and assembly. Work with drive trains, including belts, pulleys, sprockets, and chains, to install, adjust, and repair mechanical power transmission systems. Support basic electrical work on 110V single phase and 230V/480V three-phase systems as needed for equipment operation and maintenance. If interested, feel free to reach out to Kyle Negin
