Golf Course & HOA Maintenance Mechanic The Coves Master Association, Inc.

Full-Time Position Summary The Coves Master Association, Inc. (CMA) is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic to perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on the golf course equipment operated at The Coves Golf Club and equipment operated for the Coves HOA. This position is responsible for ensuring that all golf course and HOA maintenance equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. The successful candidate will diagnose and repair mechanical issues, perform routine and preventive maintenance, maintain service records, and assist with parts inventory. This position reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform preventative maintenance, service, and repairs on all golf course and HOA maintenance equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, hydraulic, electrical, and small-engine systems.
  • Maintain and repair mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, sprayers, aerification equipment, and other turf maintenance machinery.
  • Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, adjustments, and routine service work.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and operational issues. Shop Operations
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, service history, and parts usage.
  • Assist with parts inventory and ordering recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental requirements related to equipment maintenance and fluid handling. Reel Maintenance & Equipment Setup
  • Perform reel grinding, bedknife sharpening, cutting unit setup, and mower adjustments.
  • Maintain equipment to provide the highest quality playing conditions possible.
  • Prepare and adjust equipment for seasonal maintenance programs, tournaments, and special events. Communication & Teamwork
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding equipment needs and repair priorities.
  • Communicate equipment conditions, repair needs, and parts requirements promptly.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and pride in workmanship. Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum three years of mechanical repair experience.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to safely operate and test equipment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred
  • Experience maintaining golf course, agricultural, landscaping, construction, or turf equipment.
  • Experience with reel grinding and cutting unit setup.
  • Welding and light fabrication skills.
  • Experience maintaining service records and parts inventories.
  • Knowledge of Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen, Club Car, Yamaha or similar equipment. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
