Job Description Introduction:
The City of Estacada is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team and help keep City facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. We are accepting applications for a Custodial and Facility Maintenance position responsible for maintaining City-owned buildings and ensuring they remain functional, well-kept, and inviting for employees and the public. This essential role supports daily operations and helps create a positive experience for staff, residents, and visitors who use our facilities.

Location:
This position is onsite at all of our City facilities.
Schedule:
This position is considered full-time with 32 hours per week , and availability to work Saturdays is required . Other workdays may be flexible; but you will be expected to maintain a consistent schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Custodial Services (Approximately 60% of job duties) Clean, sanitize, and maintain City facilities including City Hall, Public Library, Public Works, Water Treatment Plant including the lab and office area, Wade Creek Community Room, and Wastewater Treatment Plant including the lab and office area. Cleaning would include offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and communal areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures. Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste. Replenish restroom, facility, and custodial supplies. Perform routine and periodic deep cleaning tasks such as floor care, carpet, and window cleaning. Safely use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment in accordance with applicable regulations. Laundry towels, tablecloths, and other items as needed. Identify and report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or supply shortages. Supply ordering for facilities as needed. Building Maintenance & Facilities Support (Approximately 40%) Perform minor building maintenance and repairs within training and experience, which may include: Minor sheetrock repair Indoor/small outdoor painting Repairing door hardware Hanging pictures and frames as needed Replace light bulbs and fluorescent lamps minor plumbing repairs, such as replacing washers or flush valves. Conduct routine inspections of City facilities to identify, evaluate, & track maintenance issues. Perform outdoor building upkeep, including pressure washing sidewalks, entryways, and building exteriors, cleaning gutters, outdoor window washing or other similar building maintenance tasks. Assist with basic grounds support near facilities such as litter removal, light landscaping assistance, and seasonal debris removal. Coordinate with supervisors and outside contractors when maintenance issues exceed the scope of this position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Possess valid Oregon driver's license. The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check as a condition of employment.
Abilities/Skills:
Ability to pass a background check Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds. Frequently and continuously walk. Frequent Trunk Flexion 0-45 degrees. Frequently Reach Forward. Frequently Power Grip. Frequently Push/Pull 0-10 lbs. & 11-50 lbs. and Balance. Frequently Twist. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Basic reading, writing, computer skills, and communication skills in English. Strong time management skills. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully, with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is also frequently required to stand and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to sit, climb ladders, and maintain balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Maintaining regular and punctual attendance. Dress in a professional and appropriate manner for the assignment and the work setting. Exercising prudent judgment. Excellent communication with department staff. Work independently in the performance of routine duties. Follow all City policies and work procedures. Participate in required meetings and trainings related to the position. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment. Position is on-site only, no remote work. Work outdoors as necessary Must be able to work Saturday's.
DESIRED SKILLS
Experience in custodial services highly desirable. Building maintenance or facilities support. Working knowledge of basic maintenance tools, equipment, and repair techniques. If bilingual, you may be requested to interpret, translate documents, and/or communicate orally in the second language. Computer skills such as
