Accepting Online Applications Only Information on How to Apply (https://www.eugene-or.gov/674/How-to-Apply) The Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic performs journey-level equipment maintenance with minimal instruction and supervision; responsible for a variety of mechanical duties in a large complex activated sludge wastewater treatment plant and related off
• site facilities.

This position will require areas of specialization such as welding and fabrication, pump repair, industrial engine maintenance, or other specialized skills listed below. If you would like a tour of the treatment plant please call the hiring supervisor, Josh Haring @ 541-543-7677 or 541 682-8606. As a part of the interview process there is a panel interview and a skills test in the maintenance shop. During the skills test you will be using a cutting torch and an arc welder and hand tools. Appropriate clothing will be required, steel-toed shoes must be worn, or you will not be allowed to proceed with the skills testing. Other PPE will be provided and must be worn, (face shield while grinding, shop coat while welding) there are no exceptions. This position requires a competent and seasoned professional in all phases of industrial plant maintenance; required to work overtime on an assigned and callout basis as deemed necessary by the city during emergency situations.

DEPENDING UPON THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES POSSESSED BY THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT, THIS POSITION MAY BE FILLED AS EITHER A WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE MECHANIC 1 OR WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE MECHANIC 2.
