Job Description
Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, safety, and operational efficiency of the hotel property. This role ensures all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems are functioning properly to support guest satisfaction and minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Preventative Maintenance Execute scheduled preventative maintenance across guest rooms, mechanical systems, and common areas Maintain logs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and equipment servicing Identify and resolve issues before they become guest-facing problems Repairs & Work Orders Respond to maintenance requests from front desk and housekeeping in a timely manner Diagnose and repair issues including: Plumbing (leaks, clogs, fixtures) Electrical (lighting, outlets, breakers) HVAC systems Appliances (mini-fridges, PTAC units, laundry equipment) Prioritize work orders based on urgency and guest impact Property Upkeep Maintain cleanliness and functionality of exterior areas (walkways, parking lot, landscaping basics) Monitor and address safety hazards (ice, water leaks, damaged fixtures, etc.) Assist with seasonal maintenance (winterization, storm prep, etc.) Compliance & Safety Follow OSHA safety standards and hotel safety protocols Maintain proper handling and storage of tools and chemicals Support emergency response situations (power outages, water leaks, fire alarms) Vendor Coordination Assist with overseeing third-party vendors and contractors on-site Ensure work is completed to standard and within scope Inventory & Tools Track maintenance supplies and parts inventory Notify management of reorder needs Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition Qualifications 2+ years of maintenance experience (hotel or similar facility preferred) Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general construction Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently Basic understanding of safety and compliance standards Ability to use maintenance tracking systems or work order software Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Schedule Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays On-call availability for emergencies may be required
