Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tire production related equipment and other production facility maintenance as required. Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of the Les Schwab production machine shop. Role is responsible to ensure quality standards are met. This position requires a heightened awareness of safety for self, team members and the facilities/equipment at all times; must be able to assess, manage and mitigate risk. Apply safe trade practices and techniques at all times.
Pay:
$23.75/hr + Quarterly bonus pay! This is a Swing shift position: Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 10:00pm.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventive maintenance inspection and services as directed. Log work and complete and turn in work orders weekly or as directed. Perform routine lubrication of plant mechanical equipment. Lubricate and inspect parts such as shafts, motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears and pulleys. Perform general, non-specialized maintenance tasks related to plant and equipment. Perform simple maintenance on machines and equipment. Take maintenance calls on floor and assist other maintenance personnel in handling maintenance calls. Perform general maintenance welding projects on machines, conveyors, and other equipment using arc, gas, or wire feed welder using safe trade practices and techniques.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
2 years experience working in machine shop or related industry Acquire and maintain forklift, hot work, scissor lift, and Genie boom certification Strong mechanical background, including ability to read blueprints
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required work in a standing position and to pull, push, lift, move, or transport product weighing up to 60 lbs without aid and up to 100+ lbs with the aid of a forklift. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop, crouch, reach and grasp. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Warehouse condition:
subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes, which can be extreme.
