General Maintenance Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our day to day operations. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and supporting ongoing facility improvements. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, boilers, and HVAC components. Perform repairs and troubleshooting using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automated equipment functions. Execute welding tasks for structural repairs or fabrication needs with precision and safety awareness. Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks. Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring safety standards and quality control are upheld. Support manufacturing by maintaining equipment uptime and adhering to safety protocols. Lead or collaborate with team members on maintenance initiatives, demonstrating leadership qualities and supervising experience when applicable. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams. Proficiency in electrical systems, including troubleshooting circuits with tools like ohmmeters. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in automated environments. Skilled in welding techniques for repairs or fabrication tasks. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices across residential or manufacturing settings. Effective supervisory skills with leadership experience in maintenance teams preferred. Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and teamwork collaboration.
