General Maintenance 1

UPMC Corporate is hiring a General Maintenance I to join our Facilities Team! This role will work third shift, during the hours of 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The position will work varied days, which include weekends and holidays. The position will assist with local travel to other UPMC Facilities as needed. Performs general maintenance and preventive upkeep with minimal supervision, utilizing basic skills in electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and hardware repairs. Maintains clean, safe work and equipment areas, follows infection control procedures, completes work documentation daily, and supports operations in all weather conditions, including snow removal. Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision. Exhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, carpentry/hardware repairs, and mechanical equipment and systems. Assist with and maintain general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas. Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment. Perform all work following infection control procedures. Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Assist in snow removal. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a trade school program is preferred. One year of general maintenance-related work experience is preferred.
