Job Description

Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used in the pultrusion manufacturing process. This includes pultrusion lines, resin delivery systems, heating systems, cutting equipment, and auxiliary machinery. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, safe operation, and efficient production in a composites manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on pultrusion machinery and related equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Maintain and repair resin bath systems, creels, pulling mechanisms, heated dies, and cut-off saws Inspect and maintain heating systems (electric or oil-heated dies) to ensure proper curing conditions Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime Support production teams in optimizing machine performance and efficiency Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades Ensure compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures Work with outside vendors and contractors when needed Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred) 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (composites experience a plus) Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, drives, and alignment Working knowledge of electrical systems (motors, controls, PLC troubleshooting is a plus) Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience in pultrusion or composites manufacturing PLC troubleshooting or programming experience Welding and fabrication skills Experience with automation systems and continuous process equipment Key Skills & Competencies Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Attention to detail and safety awareness Ability to work independently and in a team environment Good communication skills Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and chemicals (resins, fiberglass) Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs May require shift work, overtime, and on-call support Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a growing composites industry Hands-on role with advanced manufacturing equipment Competitive pay and benefits Career growth opportunities
