This is a full-time position for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that a clean, safe environment plays a huge role in resident comfort and care. We're looking for a team player who shows up consistently, works hard, and treats our residents and coworkers with respect—because here, everyone matters. Position Summary The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all flooring throughout the facility. This role supports infection control, safety standards, and the overall experience of residents, visitors, and staff. Key Responsibilities Strip, wax, buff, and maintain all types of flooring (VCT, tile, carpet, etc.) Operate floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and extractors Perform routine and deep-cleaning floor projects as scheduled Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions throughout the building Follow proper chemical usage and safety procedures Support the Environmental Services team with general cleaning duties as needed Respond promptly to spills, safety hazards, and special requests Interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff Qualifications Prior experience as a floor technician or in environmental services preferred Knowledge of floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods Dependable attendance and a positive attitude Why Work at Accela Springfield Comprehensive benefits package Union benefits Supportive management and team-oriented environment A workplace where your work is noticed and appreciated Opportunity to make a daily difference in residents' lives Accela Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
