$28.03 - $37.47 (depending on experience)
Shift:

While reporting to the Plant Engineer as the Maintenance Mechanic/Machinist you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks, specifically proactive tasks, necessary to provide high quality, efficient, timely shipment of Sonoco products. Able to work with machining equipment and respond quickly/effectively to maintenance concerns. Safety, quality, productivity and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.

Once employed, enjoy our Referral Bonus! Rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts: 3 days on, two days off, two days on, three days off. Work approximately 15 days a month and have a three day weekend every other weekend.
What you will be doing:
Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer. Assisting/training other maintenance personnel with repairs, PM's, and rebuilds. Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolutions. Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area. Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment. Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies. Fabricate basic machine parts and rebuilding rotating equipment, including pumps, gear boxes, etc. Basic knowledge of electrical systems. Work with electrical systems and check fuses, circuit breakers, overloads, etc. Able to perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. We'd love to hear from you if: You have experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls a plus. Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs. Working independently and managing multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that will require overtime including weekends. Must be able to work well with others while also being able to work independently with limited supervision. Performs other work as required in support of general maintenance and production activity.
