n/a Reports to: Director of Sublimation & Art Position Focus The focus of the Lead Sewing Operator & Floor Lead is to produce first-quality sewn garments based on the specifications given to them, train team members on all sewing-related operations, create an efficient team workflow and atmosphere, and maintain the production schedule given to them by the Director of Sublimation & Art. Responsibilities and Duties Perform all aspects of sewing to create first-quality garments based on tech packs, spec sheets, and customer notes Prep orders for efficient handling Identify necessary accessories for each order (zippers, waistbands, etc.) Create production workflow to maximize efficiency Notify management of production issues and/or delays Perform basic machine maintenance Act as liaison between sewing team and management Additional duties as assigned Core Competencies Sewing machine operation, including but not limited to: Overlock Flatseam Coverstitch Button Hole Bar-tack Single Needle Basic machine maintenance Quality control Scheduling Communication Problem solving Physical Environment and Demands The employee will be required to do all the following: Verbally communicate with and listen to coworkers Sit for extended periods of time Regularly lift or move 25+ lbs Have exposure to sewing machine noise and moving machinery on a regular basis Travel Requirements No travel is required for this position Education and Experience Required High School Diploma or equivalent Relevant apparel manufacturing experience Experience using industrial sewing machines (will be tested) Preferred Advanced machine maintenance skills Team Lead or Supervisor experience The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop and grow with the Sewing Division.
