JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Survey building, equipment and mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance of building, equipment and mechanical systems.
• Repair building, equipment and mechanical systems as needed.
• Install specialized functional and structural parts in equipment and devices.
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment to repair or replace defective parts.
• Examine parts to detect imperfections.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Inspect used parts to determine serviceability.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Test equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment according to level of training.
• Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Identify parts needed for maintenance department inventory.
