Job Description

Position:
Facility Technician Job Description This position will be responsible for supporting facility maintenance and troubleshooting of Site Facility's buildings, systems, and grounds, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems and components and general maintenance in a nuclear research and testing facility. Involves working with hand and power tools, heavy equipment, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills. Perform facility maintenance and upgrades to ensure minimal site downtime including but not limited to: Electrical inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and general upkeep. Plumbing inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and general upkeep. HVAC inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and general upkeep. Internal and external building inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and general upkeep. Generate, review, track, perform, and close site work orders and compliance calendar items Support shipping & receiving with custom crate fabrication, loading, unloading, and packing for shipment. Operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and boom lifts Perform retrofits to existing site equipment and systems. Support tool and test engineers during tooling fabrication, assembly, functional and testing Interface with internal and external contractors and facility maintenance vendors Assist with procurement and pick-up of components from vendors. Adept knowledge of facility systems. Skills in facility troubleshooting capabilities and techniques Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with various cultures and at all levels of the organization. Must be available to work weekends and nights as required in support of critical project milestones. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Must pass a background check and be able to gain unescorted access to nuclear power stations. Forklift, crane, and basic rigging Operation experience. Must be able to understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mechanical/Dimensional inspections.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift loads up to 50 lbs.
