Director of Facilities / Pastor Please send all resumes to Sam Venuti at Position Summary Saint Eleanor Catholic Church is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Maintenance & Custodial Technician to support the care, safety, and daily operation of parish buildings, facilities, and grounds. This position focuses primarily on building maintenance, light repairs, facility monitoring, and seasonal upkeep , while also assisting with custodial duties and parish event support as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs including: Basic plumbing Light electrical work Carpentry and minor drywall repair Painting and patching Monitor major facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and report concerns promptly Maintain awareness of emergency systems including plumbing, fire safety, electrical, and sewage systems Help ensure parish facilities remain safe, functional, and accessible Recommend when outside contractors are required for repairs or specialized work Meet with and assist contractors at the start and completion of projects when needed Perform light upkeep tasks such as repainting doorways and small repair areas as needed Grounds & Exterior Care Walk the parish grounds each morning to remove litter, leaves, and debris Blow entrances and walkways at the church and parish office daily Assist in maintaining sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior spaces Help ensure safe access during snow, ice, or inclement weather Assist with seasonal grounds duties and exterior upkeep as directed Assist with campus cleaning and repainting projects during spring and fall Custodial & Facility Support Perform custodial duties as needed including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and restroom cleaning Assist with room setup and breakdown for parish meetings and events Move furniture, equipment, or supplies as requested Monitor maintenance, lighting, and custodial supply levels and coordinate ordering or replenishment through the Facilities Director Pick up parts, supplies, or equipment as needed Special Projects Assist with periodic campus organization and improvement projects Clean out and organize the Parish House garage annually Support additional facility projects as assigned Emergency & Availability Be available for limited emergency on-call situations , including weather-related events, facility emergencies, or urgent maintenance needs Report safety hazards or maintenance concerns promptly Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years of building maintenance or facilities experience preferred Demonstrated experience in plumbing, light electrical, carpentry, painting, or general repair work Experience monitoring building systems preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Valid driver's license required Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Pre-Employment Requirements Successful completion of Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania background clearances Compliance with Archdiocesan Safe Environment policies Equal Employment Opportunity Statement The Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Saint Eleanor Catholic Church consider applicants for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
