Job Title:
Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, and support continuous improvement of production processes in a demanding yet rewarding industrial environment. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of physical activities associated with the maintenance of manufacturing operations and facility equipment. Repair various types of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Conduct preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, chain drives, pumps, and related mechanical components. Perform corrective maintenance to address equipment failures and restore proper operation. Fabricate simple structures by welding or bolting using prints, blueprints, and diagrams. Troubleshoot mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, pumps, chain drives, and other industrial machinery. Use measuring tools and devices, including tape measures, micrometers, and voltage meters, to inspect, diagnose, and verify equipment performance. Essential Skills 2-3 years of industrial maintenance experience (preferred), including mechanical maintenance and maintenance repairs. Hands-on experience with motors, gearboxes, chain drives, pumps, and other industrial mechanical components. Demonstrated ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Ability to repair manufacturing equipment safely and effectively in a production environment. Experience with welding and fabrication, including the ability to fabricate simple structures by welding or bolting using prints and diagrams. Strong mechanical maintenance skills, including troubleshooting of bearings, gearboxes, pumps, chain drives, and related components. Ability to follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and all plant safety regulations. Working knowledge of measuring equipment and devices, such as tape measures, micrometers, and voltage meters. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, MSDS sheets, SOPs, JSAs, and other technical documents. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and process flow in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices, including troubleshooting, mechanical maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs. Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including reading electrical schematics and performing basic electrical troubleshooting. Exposure to hydraulics, plumbing, PLC-related systems, and installation of mechanical and electrical components. Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a physically demanding and warm production environment. Strong sense of responsibility for safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on 2nd shift, Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The role is based on a production floor environment where conditions can be hot, particularly in the summer, and there is no air conditioning on the production floor. You will work around industrial machinery and equipment, performing hands-on maintenance tasks and using tools such as measuring devices, welding equipment, and basic electrical test instruments. Safety is a core focus, with strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and plant safety regulations. Metatarsal or steel-toe protection is required; strap-on metatarsals are available if needed. The dress code consists of jeans and t-shirts made from 100% cotton to support safety and comfort in the industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.02 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
