Maintenance Technician

5-6-day work week depending on business needs. 10pm-6:30am. Overtime available on earlier shifts. Off Sundays. The successful candidate must have a wide range of experience in maintenance functions and duties. This position requires a highly organized; very hands-on person who leads by example and has a minimum of three years of experience. The successful candidate must ensure that all maintenance functions and duties are met or exceeded. The candidate must be a team player, have initiative and require very little supervision. Must know how to and be capable of safely operating all plant repair tools. Must be able to communicate process variables to shift supervisors and maintenance team members. Must be team oriented and able to interact with all levels of plant employees. Ability to work 40+ hours per week including weekends when necessary. Excellent skills in planning and organizing. Housekeeping skills are essential. Must be able to follow a preventative maintenance program throughout the plant. Must have skills to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical problems at the plant in a highly effective and timely manner. Must have skills to communicate clearly to maintenance staff. Must be organized and able to keep accurate paperwork and reports. Ability to work under pressure and guide the maintenance operations for a plant with varying hours of operation. Excellent problem-solving skills - ability to understand the complexity of the production process and operation. Good communications skills are essential. Must be able to work with teams and alert plant manager to potential problems that could occur to machinery. Should be able to support plant manager in the decision-making processes on plant equipment.

Repeated lifting up to 75 lbs. Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders up to 40 ft. high Be able to stand for approximately 75% of the work day Frequent squatting and kneeling Good manual dexterity with hands to pick up small parts, use hand tools, etc. Good visual acuity

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge:

Allen Bradley process controls/logic Hydraulic control systems Pneumatics Rolling stock experience highly preferred Basic and advanced electrical, electronic troubleshooting Basic welding/cutting operations Basic technical drawing and have the ability to read prints Basic mathematic knowledge Basic computer skills

Working Conditions:

Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with a high level of dust (at times).
