Maintenance Technician

Fiber Maintenance Technician Pay Rate:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Shift:

2:00 PM - 10:30 PM | Mon-Fri (Rotating off-day; Mon-Sat based on business needs) Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Fiber Maintenance Technician to join a field operations team. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of the Outside Plant (OSP) fiber systems. You will be responsible for everything from high-level aerial work to precision fusion splicing and troubleshooting network disruptions. If you have a strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, and fiber optics, and you're looking for a stable shift with no on-call requirements , we want to hear from you.

Core Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair:

Troubleshoot network disruptions (including "low light" issues); locate and repair faulty fiber components in aerial and underground systems.

Splicing & Installation:

Perform fusion and ribbon splicing for high-count fiber optic cables; install fiber terminals and customer enclosures.

Testing & Validation:

Utilize OTDR , power meters, and inspection scopes to ensure signal quality and network health.

Aerial & Field Work:

Frame poles, place strands, and lash cable. This role requires working at heights of up to 50 feet via bucket trucks or ladders.

Documentation:

Maintain precise records, splice diagrams, and site-specific documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Experience:

Proven experience in telecommunications, specifically fiber network installation or splicing.

Systems Knowledge:

Basic understanding of FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) networks and splicing techniques.

Mechanical Aptitude:

Strong working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is a must.

Physical Ability:

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs , work in confined spaces (manholes/vaults), and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Safety & Compliance:

Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations (Confined Space/Lift training).

Driver's License:
