Job Description

Facility Maintenance TechnicianPosition Overview The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that plant and building systems operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. This handson role includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, plumbing and structural systems, troubleshooting equipment problems, supporting production uptime and maintaining a clean, safe facility environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and timely repairs on mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and building infrastructure to minimize downtime and maintain a safe work environment.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures using mechanical, plumbing and basic electrical skills; identify root causes and implement longterm corrective actions.

Execute work orders and respond to maintenance requests from production and facilities teams, prioritizing tasks to support business operations and safety requirements.

Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and internal quality and safety procedures; complete required documentation, logs and maintenance records accurately and on time.

Support facility projects and installations, including equipment moves, piping modifications and small construction or renovation tasks; work with contractors and vendors as needed.

Maintain spare parts inventory, basic tools and equipment; advise on spare parts procurement and recommend costeffective repairs or replacements.

Conduct safety checks, calibrations and preventive checks on lifesafety systems (emergency lights, fire extinguishers, alarms) and participate in safety and emergency response drills.

Provide general handyman support for building upkeep, including carpentry, painting, basic welding and grounds maintenance as required.

Communicate effectively with operations, quality and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical, trade school or vocational training in facility maintenance, industrial mechanics or a related field preferred.

Minimum 3 years of handson facility maintenance experience in a manufacturing, processing or GMP environment; experience with GMP documentation and hygiene practices strongly preferred.

Proven mechanical and plumbing skills, including troubleshooting pumps, motors, valves, pipework and basic HVAC and electrical systems.

Strong handyman skills for general building repairs (carpentry, painting, minor welding) and the ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.

Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools safely; familiarity with lockout/tagout, confined space entry and other safety procedures.

Excellent problemsolving skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks under time constraints.

Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team; experience coordinating with external contractors and vendors.

Willingness to be on call or work flexible hours as required for emergency repairs; valid drivers license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
