Full-Time Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Forty 1⁰ North in Newport, a state-of-the-art marina and restaurant, with chic lounges, beautifully appointed lodgings and extraordinary service is seeking a full-time, hourly Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join this world-class team. The position is several days per week including weekends and some holidays. The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for guestroom and equipment preventative maintenance, as well as assisting in the repairs and maintenance of hotel equipment, guest rooms, and public spaces. Qualifications and Responsibilities of the Hotel Maintenance Engineer

• Thorough working knowledge of all hotel and restaurant systems, including but not limited to Ving entrance systems, commercial refrigeration, ice machines, chiller, IT
• Proficient with Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to monitor and maintain all life-safety systems, and ensure systems are current and up to date
• Proficient with plans and construction specs, including operating/maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
• Able to interact with hotel guests and personnel, while providing prompt solutions to problems
• Able to perform hands-on work, including all aspects of the trades (use of multi meter, comfort with low voltage as well as line-voltage, ability to trouble shoot HVAC and plumbing systems, light carpentry and painting) and manage the Preventative Maintenance Program
• Ability to work on weekends and holidays as is typical to the hospitality industry
• Maintain a calm, professional, and positive attitude in a challenging and fast-paced environment
• Successful completion of criminal background and driver's license check, with Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
