Job Description
Position Overview The Utility worker will cross train to multiple roles in the organization, to assist with bottlenecks and back up coverage when needed. Supports daily manufacturing operations by performing a variety of general labor, material handling, equipment support, and housekeeping duties within an immersion heater manufacturing facility. This role helps maintain efficient production flow, ensures workplace cleanliness and safety, and assists production teams with assembly, packaging, shipping, and inventory-related tasks. Welding or CNC machine operation experience desired. Key Responsibilities Assist production personnel with assembly and fabrication processes for immersion heaters and related components. Inspect and unload incoming shipments to verify accuracy against purchase orders or invoices and complete receiving forms. Safely operate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, to load, unload and move raw materials, parts, and finished products between departments using carts and pallet jacks. Ensure proper storage of received goods in designated areas. Perform basic packaging, labeling, and palletizing of finished products. Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment. Ability to measure, mark, cut, nail, screw and assemble shipping crates using various wood shop equipment in a safe manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of production floors, workstations, storage areas, and warehouse spaces. Support machine operators by supplying materials and removing scrap or finished goods. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Dispose of waste materials and scrap according to company procedures and safety regulations. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and manufacturing procedures. Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or production issues to supervisor. Perform other general labor and facility support duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred but not required. Ability to lift (up to 75 lbs.) regularly and stand for extended periods. Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift. Basic understanding of workplace safety practices. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong teamwork and reliability. Preferred Qualifications Experience in electrical, metal fabrication, CNC Machining, welding or industrial manufacturing environments. Material handling experience. Familiarity with hand tools and basic production equipment. Working Conditions / Environment Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, metal materials, and industrial equipment. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes. May require overtime, weekends, or shift work depending on production schedules.
