Job Description

Spartanburg SCHEDL Automotive is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician. This position will be a rotating shift (3 weeks on day shift, 1 week on night shift) or permanent night shift. Job Overview As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a diverse range of manufacturing equipment. Your technical skills will be essential in installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, automation, and robotics. Collaborating with Controls Technician, you will work to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime. You will be the first responder to machine breakdowns, ensuring the smooth continuation of production. Conduct preventative maintenance on all automated manufacturing equipment to uphold operational efficiency. Identify and diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and communicate corrective actions to the team. Maintain cleanliness in the maintenance area and conduct regular spares inventory audits to ensure accuracy. Attain Journeyman Level proficiency in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting/repair across all machines. Utilize CMMS to execute work orders. Recommend countermeasures to prevent recurring breakdowns. Qualifications and Skills Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 2 years of experience in automation/PLC controls, mechanical, and electronic systems, OR High school diploma/GED and 4 years of technical experience in automation/PLC controls, mechanical, and electronic systems. Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Kuka robots. Skilled in troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems. Proficient in the use of various hand and portable tools, general machining, and welding. Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Experience with Siemens PLCs, Beckhoff PLCs. Experience with pneumatics, electronics, mechanical, and control techniques. Preferred experience in the automotive industry. Proficient with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Teamwork, cooperation, initiative, good communication, goal orientation, ability to work under pressure. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required by the job demands. Availability to work any shift as needed for operational coverage.
