Preventative Maintenance Mechanic 261 Seven Mile Road, Harleyville, SC 29448 Full-time Full-time Job Summary The Preventative Maintenance Technician - is responsible for performing routine lubrication, fluid services, inspections, and basic preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. This role plays a critical part in extending equipment life, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled lubrication services on heavy equipment, including construction, earthmoving, and support equipment Change engine oil, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, and filters according to manufacturer specifications Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, damage, or potential mechanical issues and report findings to maintenance leadership Grease fittings, joints, and moving parts to ensure proper operation Check and top off fluids such as coolant, fuel, DEF, and lubricants Conduct basic preventative maintenance inspections and complete service checklists Maintain accurate maintenance and service records in maintenance logs Clean work areas, tools, and equipment to maintain a safe and organized shop Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lock-out/tag-out requirements Assist mechanics with minor repairs and shop duties as needed Operate service trucks and equipment safely on job sites and in shop environments Work Environment Shop and field-based position Exposure to grease, oils, noise, and heavy machinery May require overtime, weekends, or on-call support as needed Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required Previous experience as a lube technician, equipment service technician, or similar role preferred Knowledge of lubrication systems, fluids, and filters for heavy equipment Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify potential maintenance issues Ability to read and follow maintenance schedules and manufacturer guidelines Valid driver's license; CDL a plus Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail Time management and organizational skills Safety-focused mindset Ability to work independently and as part of a team Clear communication and documentation skills Equal Opportunity Employer Landmark Construction Company, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
