NextBeam Facility Maintenance Technician About NextBeam NextBeam is a startup company on a mission to fundamentally improve how radiation sterilization is done. We operate a modern, clean, and sustainable Electron Beam radiation facility in North Sioux City, South Dakota. The Role The North Sioux City (NSC) Maintenance Technician has ultimate, day-to-day responsibility for monitoring and maintaining NextBeam's sterilization system and other high-value equipment in the North Sioux City Facility. This equipment is comprised of high-power electronics, radiation-producing devices, automated roller conveyor conveyances, programmable control systems, and safety systems/interlocks, among other things. The successful candidate is a self-starting player who can perform both routine daily maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance. Additionally, you will be a skilled troubleshooter and be able to recommend pragmatic corrective measures to address problems. You'll be able to either execute these recommendations yourself and/or direct other parties to take action if needed. Your role is critical to ensure that we achieve high uptime and maintain our system, facility, and capabilities in a safe and compliant manner. Key Responsibilities /
Duties:
Perform both daily and scheduled preventative maintenance activities for the facility to ensure that optimum production output is maintained by minimizing downtime and predictable failures Identify problems, collect data, draw logical conclusions, recommend corrective action, and carry out necessary repairs in a timely manner Repair production equipment and tools as required to maintain production schedules. When needed, specify the materials/tools needed, obtain pricing information, complete purchase orders, and order materials/tools required Maintain a stock of critical spare parts. Assist engineering, and facilities in new equipment installation Interface with operations personnel regarding work orders and outside contractors, as necessary Comply with all facility safety programs Other duties as needed Required Skills Demonstrated experience as a hands-on critical thinker Math/logic skills sufficient to collect system data and analyze findings Ability to understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Electronics training
  • ability to use a multimeter and oscilloscope Strong written communication skills to summarize findings and recommendations Required Education & Experience High School diploma or equivalent, minimum 5y+ experience with hand tools and other specialty tools Hands-on experience with high-voltage / high-powerpower electronics Be able to lift 50lbs Be able to work in non-airconditioned environments Ideal skills / past experiences Experience working on conveyor systems Experience with warehousing tools and automation systems (forklifts, barcode scanners, mobile input devices, etc.
) Experience working with sterilization systems US military training for high-power electronics such as radar or electronic warfare systems Compensation Salary commensurate with experience and highly competitive within the industry.
