Position Summar y:

The Grounds & Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of company fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and small engines. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a professional shop, fleet, or equipment environment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This role supports daily operations by ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for use. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles, including pickup trucks, work trucks, and salt trucks Service and repair heavy equipment such as payloaders and skid loaders Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul small engines (mowers, chainsaws, generators, snow blowers) Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems Perform routine and preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime Inspect, disassemble, repair, and reassemble components as needed Complete repairs both in the shop and in the field Support seasonal operations, including snow removal Maintain basic records of repairs, labor, and parts used Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Snow removal duties during winter season. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

2-3+ years of professional mechanical experience required (shop, fleet, or equipment setting) Experience working on fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and/or small engines Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and make sound repair decisions Valid driver's license with a clean record, required High school diploma preferred; technical training a plus Must provide own basic hand tools Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding positions Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Pay:

From $24.00 per hour
