SUMMARY:
The Facility Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional manufacturing environment by performing custodial duties on the manufacturing floor, routine maintenance, lawn care, and snow removal. This position ensures the facility and grounds meet safety and cleanliness standards, contributing to efficient operations and a positive work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Custodial Duties:
Sweep and scrub floors to keep the manufacturing floor free of debris and spills. Clean and maintain walls, machinery exteriors, and other equipment as necessary. Perform touch-up painting and assist in other cosmetic improvements to the manufacturing floor. Monitor silos for water and remove as necessary. Remove waste and recyclables from designated areas.
Basic Maintenance:
Transport equipment and furniture throughout the company's buildings. May perform light maintenance and repair on plumbing, HVAC, heaters, fan control units, electrical, electric motors, boilers, generators, air compressors, variable frequency drives, and related systems. Assist with carpentry or building projects including roofs, overhead garage doors, or elevators. Report any malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager. Set-up and take down event and meeting fixtures.
Grounds Maintenance:
Mow lawns, trim shrubs, and remove weeds to maintain an orderly appearance. Remove leaves and debris from walkways and entrances. Clear snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, and building entrances. Apply salt or ice-melting chemicals to surfaces for safety. Demonstrates the Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions. May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Strong troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records. Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required. Refer to Viaflex Vehicle Operations Policy CS-13 for guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. May travel to outlying locations up to 10% of the time. Carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and carpentry training or experience. Proficient with computers.

Physical Requirements:

Working Conditions:
Exposure to a normal office environment. Position regularly entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
