Full Job Description Job Description Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and supporting production teams during equipment downtime. The role requires maintaining high standards of work quality, adhering to safety and compliance policies, and documenting maintenance activities accurately. Technicians must have strong technical knowledge of electrical systems (including PLCs), motors, drivers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and plant utility systems. They should demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication regarding equipment issues. Physical demands include liftin gup to 80 lbs., frequent bending and climbing, and working in a manufacturing environment with loud noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is always required.Accountabilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
AIMS/SAP
to create and complete work orders, document corrective actions, and track labor and material costs. Compliance & Safety- Adherence to Amcor Safety Standards and food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO, QMS, QSI).
- Respond promptly to equipment downtime and assist production teams in restoring operations. Maintain plant utility systems, including electrical, motors/drives, air systems, and resin handling. Documentation & Communication
- Accurate record maintenance activities and work orders in a timely manner. Communicate equipment issues and potential downtime to supervisors. Housekeeping & Facility Care
- Keep work areas clean and organized. Perform additional facility tasks such as snow removal when trained and authorized. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
